Addicks fans to vote for legends
Addicks fans to vote for legends

Fans can now vote for the first three entrants to the Addicks Hall Of Fame. The idea, an initiative of the Fans Forum, gives supporters the chance to choose a player from three differnt eras.

The first group is pre-1950, and the nominees are Sam Bartram, Don Welsh and Charlie Vaughan. Welsh is the only Charlton captain ever to lift the FA Cup but Bartram is Charlton’s most iconic player and will surely be the winner.

The second group covers the period from 1951 to 1980. Fans will have to choose between Eddie Firmani, Keith Peacock and Derek Hales. This section may be the closest contest with all three players having good claims.

The last section, covers the period from 1981 to the present day and Steve Gritt, Mark Kinsella and Clive Mendonca are the nominees. Though Steve Gritt has filled many roles in various spell at The Valley, the winner is likely to be either Kinsella or Mendonca.

Also organised by the Fans Forum is the annual Player Of The Year contest. Fans will be able to cast their votes on Monday, prior to the Walsall game and at the Wycombe game on 21 April.
